Program Basics
What is ImprintED?

ImprintED is a community giveback program operated by DARE Print & Sign Co., dedicated to supporting K-12 schools in Cañon City and Fremont County, Colorado. Each quarter, we donate 100 custom-designed shirts to selected schools through a fair drawing system coordinated with Cañon City Schools.

The program provides more than just free apparel—we offer complete design consultation, professional-quality printing using state-of-the-art DTF technology, and direct delivery to schools. Our goal is to ensure that every student group, club, and organization has access to quality custom shirts regardless of budget constraints.

In addition to quarterly donations, ImprintED offers fundraising support services and helps schools take advantage of the Hanes4Education rebate program, which provides additional cash back to participating schools.

Program Basics
Who runs the ImprintED program?

ImprintED is operated by DARE Print & Sign Co., the Cañon City print shop owned and run by Erica Haferkamp. Erica is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran who relocated the business to downtown Cañon City to serve rural Colorado communities.

Erica Haferkamp serves as Program Coordinator and Creative Director, managing school relationships, order fulfillment, design consultations, and Hanes4Education rebate submissions. She holds a BBA in Marketing and brings over 20 years of graphic design experience.

ImprintED operates from the DARE Print & Sign Co. facility at 710 Main Street in downtown Cañon City.

Program Basics
Is ImprintED a nonprofit organization?

No, ImprintED is not a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. It is a community giveback program operated by DARE Print & Sign Co., a for-profit local business in Cañon City, Colorado.

However, this does not change what schools receive—the quarterly apparel donations are genuinely free with no strings attached, no sponsor logos required, and no obligations for recipient schools. DARE Print absorbs all production costs as an investment in the local community.

Because ImprintED is not a nonprofit, donations made to the program are not tax-deductible. Schools receiving apparel do not need to report the donations as taxable income, as they are considered promotional gifts from a local business.

Program Basics
What areas does ImprintED serve?

Currently, ImprintED serves K-12 schools in Cañon City and the surrounding Fremont County, Colorado communities. Our quarterly donation program is coordinated directly with Cañon City Schools (Fremont RE-1 School District) through their fair selection drawing system.

Schools in the following areas are eligible to participate:

  • Cañon City
  • Florence
  • Penrose
  • Williamsburg
  • Other Fremont County communities

We have plans to expand the program in the future to serve schools in Colorado Springs and Pueblo areas. If you're a school outside our current service area and interested in the program, please contact us to express your interest—it helps us plan our expansion.

Program Basics
How is ImprintED funded?

ImprintED is funded entirely by DARE Print & Sign Co. as a community investment. We do not rely on grants, outside donations, or fundraising to support the program. DARE Print absorbs all costs associated with the quarterly apparel donations, including:

  • Blank garments and materials
  • Design consultation and artwork preparation
  • DTF printing and production
  • Delivery to schools

We believe that supporting local education is one of the most meaningful investments a business can make in its community. The students wearing ImprintED apparel today are tomorrow's community leaders, business owners, and neighbors.

Revenue from paid school orders and other DARE Print commercial work helps sustain the program, allowing us to continue giving back each quarter.

Program Basics
Is there any cost to participating schools?

No, there is absolutely no cost for schools selected through our quarterly donation program. The 100 custom-designed shirts are completely free, including:

  • Design consultation and unlimited revisions
  • Professional artwork preparation
  • Full-color DTF printing
  • Quality garments
  • Delivery to your school

There are no hidden fees, no obligations, and no requirement to place future orders or display sponsor logos.

If your group needs more than 100 items, we offer additional shirts at a discounted rate. Many schools choose to receive their free allocation and purchase extras at reduced pricing. These paid orders also qualify for Hanes4Education rebates when eligible brands are used.

For fundraising campaigns and other paid orders outside the donation program, standard pricing applies—but we always work to provide competitive rates for schools.

Eligibility & Selection
Which schools are eligible for ImprintED donations?

ImprintED's quarterly donation program is available to K-12 schools within Cañon City Schools (Fremont RE-1 School District) and other schools in Fremont County, Colorado. This includes:

  • Elementary schools
  • Middle schools
  • High schools
  • Alternative education programs
  • Charter schools within the district

Within eligible schools, we serve a wide range of groups including student clubs, academic programs, athletic teams, leadership organizations, faculty appreciation initiatives, and more.

We give priority consideration to groups that have historically faced funding challenges for custom apparel. Our goal is to ensure equitable access across all school communities.

Schools outside Fremont County are not currently eligible for the donation program but may work with DARE Print & Sign Co. for paid orders and fundraising support.

Eligibility & Selection
How are schools selected for quarterly donations?

Schools are selected through a quarterly drawing system coordinated with Cañon City Schools. District Liaison Miles Tuttle oversees this process to ensure transparency and equal opportunity for all schools in the district.

Each quarter, two schools are selected to receive 75 custom shirts each. Once selected, a designated school representative contacts us to begin the design and production process. This system ensures selection is fair and not based on who asks first or existing relationships.

Eligibility & Selection
Can private schools or homeschool groups participate?

Our quarterly donation program is primarily coordinated through Cañon City Schools (Fremont RE-1), so the drawing system applies to schools within that district. However, we are open to working with other educational organizations in Fremont County on a case-by-case basis.

Private schools in Fremont County may be eligible for donations outside the district drawing system. Contact us to discuss your school's needs and how we might be able to help.

Homeschool co-ops and groups in the Fremont County area are welcome to reach out as well. While we cannot guarantee donations for every group, we're happy to discuss options including:

  • Potential donation allocations
  • Discounted group orders
  • Fundraising store setup
  • Hanes4Education rebate eligibility

Please contact us to start a conversation about how ImprintED can support your educational community.

Eligibility & Selection
What types of groups within schools can request apparel?

ImprintED serves a wide variety of groups within eligible schools. We believe every student organization deserves quality custom apparel, regardless of their budget or visibility. Eligible groups include:

Student Organizations

  • Clubs (art, music, drama, STEM, gaming, etc.)
  • Special interest groups
  • Service organizations

Academic Programs

  • AVID
  • National Junior Honor Society (NJHS)
  • Student Council
  • Capstone programs
  • Career and technical education

Leadership & Mentoring

  • WEB leaders
  • Student government
  • Peer mentoring programs
  • School safety initiatives

Athletics & Performance

  • Sports teams
  • Band, choir, orchestra
  • Dance and cheer

Faculty & Staff

  • Teacher appreciation
  • Staff recognition
  • Department shirts

We give priority to groups that have historically faced funding challenges for custom apparel.

Eligibility & Selection
Are groups that have received donations before eligible again?

Yes, schools and groups that have previously received ImprintED donations may be eligible to participate again, subject to the quarterly drawing system. However, we aim to distribute donations as broadly as possible across the district.

Here's how we balance repeat participation with fairness:

  • School Level: Once a school is selected in the quarterly drawing, they work with us to identify which group(s) will receive apparel that quarter.
  • Group Rotation: We encourage schools to rotate among different groups rather than serving the same group repeatedly.
  • New Groups Priority: Groups that have never received ImprintED apparel may receive priority consideration.
  • Annual Needs: Some groups (like incoming freshman classes or new club members) have legitimate annual needs that we're happy to support.

If your school was selected previously and would like to participate again, you'll go through the same drawing process as other schools. We want to ensure every school has fair access to the program.

Eligibility & Selection
How do we know if our school was selected?

When your school is selected through the quarterly drawing, you'll be notified through Cañon City Schools district channels. The notification process typically works as follows:

  1. District Drawing: Superintendent Dr. Adam Hartman's office conducts the quarterly selection.
  2. School Notification: Selected schools are informed through official district communication.
  3. Designate a Contact: Your school identifies a point person (teacher, administrator, club sponsor, or activity coordinator) to work with us.
  4. Reach Out: Your designated contact emails info@dareprint.com to begin the process.

If you believe your school was selected but haven't heard from us, please contact us directly at info@dareprint.com or (719) 270-1008.

You can also check with your school's main office or administration to confirm whether your school was included in the current quarter's drawing.

Eligibility & Selection
Can we request to be considered for a specific quarter?

The quarterly selection is managed through Cañon City Schools' drawing system to ensure fairness, so we cannot guarantee selection for a specific quarter based on requests. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:

Quarterly Timeframes:

  • Q1 (August–October): Back-to-school, fall activities
  • Q2 (November–January): Winter sports, holiday events
  • Q3 (February–April): Spring activities, testing season
  • Q4 (May–July): End-of-year celebrations, summer programs

If You Have a Specific Event:

If your group has an upcoming event and hasn't been selected through the drawing, you have options:

  • Contact us about a paid order at discounted school rates
  • Set up a fundraising store to offset costs
  • Take advantage of Hanes4Education rebates for additional savings

We always try to work within school calendars and event timelines, whether through the donation program or paid orders.

Apparel & Design
What types of apparel can we choose from?

ImprintED offers a wide selection of apparel options to meet your group's needs and preferences. Our standard offerings include:

Shirts

  • Short-sleeve t-shirts (crew neck, v-neck)
  • Long-sleeve t-shirts
  • Performance/moisture-wicking shirts
  • Polo shirts

Outerwear

  • Hoodies (pullover and zip-up)
  • Crewneck sweatshirts
  • Quarter-zip pullovers
  • Lightweight jackets

Accessories

  • Baseball caps and beanies
  • Performance headwear

We carry brands including Hanes, ComfortWash, Champion, and Alternative—all of which qualify for Hanes4Education rebates—plus other quality brands to fit various budgets and preferences.

During your design consultation, we'll help you select the best garment types for your group's activities, Colorado's climate, and your design requirements.

Apparel & Design
How many shirts does each school receive?

Each quarter, two schools are selected to receive 75 custom shirts each—150 shirts per quarter going directly into Cañon City Schools. This allocation is flexible based on the garment types your group needs.

If your group needs hoodies or sweatshirts instead of t-shirts, the quantity adjusts based on garment cost. Mixed orders work too—we'll calculate a combination that fits within the donation value. If your group needs more than 75 pieces, you can receive your free allocation and purchase additional items at discounted rates, which still qualify for Hanes4Education rebates.

Apparel & Design
Can we get a mix of different items (shirts and hoodies)?

Absolutely! We encourage schools to customize their order based on what their group actually needs. Mixed orders are common and work well for groups with diverse preferences or seasonal considerations.

Popular Combinations Include:

  • T-shirts for students + hoodies for leadership/officers
  • Short-sleeve shirts for warmer months + long-sleeve options for cooler weather
  • Standard tees for general members + performance shirts for athletic activities
  • Matching shirts for students + polos for faculty advisors

How Quantities Adjust:

Since different garment types have different costs, your quantities will adjust accordingly. For example:

  • 70 t-shirts + 15 hoodies
  • 50 t-shirts + 25 crewneck sweatshirts
  • 80 t-shirts + 10 quarter-zips for coaches/sponsors

During your design consultation, we'll help you determine the best mix for your group's needs and calculate exact quantities based on the donation value. We can even use the same design across different garment types for a cohesive look.

Apparel & Design
What printing method do you use?

ImprintED uses DTF (Direct-to-Film) printing technology, which represents the latest advancement in garment decoration. This method offers significant advantages over traditional screen printing, especially for the types of orders schools typically need.

Benefits of DTF Printing:

  • Full-Color Capability: Unlimited colors at no extra cost—perfect for detailed school logos, photographs, gradients, and complex artwork
  • Vibrant Results: Bright, vivid colors that stand out and maintain their appearance
  • Soft Hand Feel: Prints are smooth and comfortable against the skin, not thick or rubbery
  • Durability: Properly cared for, DTF prints withstand repeated washing without cracking, peeling, or fading
  • Versatility: Works on cotton, polyester, blends, and performance fabrics in any color
  • No Minimums: Cost-effective for both small and large orders

Care Instructions:

To maximize the life of your ImprintED apparel, we recommend washing inside-out in cold water and tumble drying on low heat or hanging to dry. Avoid ironing directly on the printed area.

Apparel & Design
Do we have to use a specific design or template?

No, every ImprintED order is fully custom. We don't use generic templates or require you to choose from pre-made designs. Your group's apparel should reflect your unique identity, and we're here to help make that happen.

Design Options:

  • Bring Your Own Design: If you have existing artwork, logos, or a specific design in mind, we'll work with your files
  • Collaborate With Us: Share your ideas, and our Creative Director Erica Haferkamp will create custom artwork for your approval
  • Start From Scratch: Not sure what you want? We'll guide you through the design process from concept to completion

What We Need From You:

  • Your group's name and any text you want included
  • School logo files (if available—vector formats like .AI, .EPS, or .SVG are ideal)
  • Color preferences or school colors
  • Any inspiration images or design direction

Don't worry if you don't have professional artwork files—we can often recreate logos or work with what you have. The design consultation is included at no charge.

Apparel & Design
Can we use our school logo and colors?

Yes, absolutely! We encourage you to use your official school logo, mascot, and colors to create apparel that represents your school with pride. Consistent branding helps build school spirit and creates a professional, unified look.

Logo Files:

For the best print quality, we prefer vector files (.AI, .EPS, .SVG, or .PDF). These formats allow us to scale your logo to any size without losing quality. If you only have raster images (.JPG, .PNG), we can often work with high-resolution versions or recreate the logo if needed.

Where to Find Your Logo:

  • Your school's main office or administration
  • District communications or marketing department
  • Athletic department (often has mascot artwork)
  • School website (though these are often low-resolution)

School Colors:

If you know your official school colors (Pantone, RGB, or hex codes), share them with us to ensure accuracy. If not, we can match colors from existing materials or your school's website.

Our DTF printing process reproduces colors accurately, so your finished apparel will match your school's established branding.

Apparel & Design
How many design revisions are included?

Unlimited revisions are included with every ImprintED order—both donations and paid orders. We want you to be completely satisfied with your design before we go to print, and we won't rush you through the approval process.

Our Design Process:

  1. Initial Consultation: We discuss your vision, gather your ideas, logos, and preferences
  2. First Proof: Our Creative Director creates an initial design mockup for your review
  3. Feedback & Revisions: You provide feedback, and we make adjustments—as many rounds as needed
  4. Final Approval: Once you're 100% happy, you give written approval to proceed
  5. Production: We print your order exactly as approved

What Revisions Can Include:

  • Color changes
  • Font adjustments
  • Layout modifications
  • Adding or removing design elements
  • Size and placement adjustments
  • Complete redesigns if the first direction isn't working

We'd rather take extra time getting the design right than have you receive apparel you're not excited about. There's no pressure and no extra charges for revisions.

Apparel & Design
Are there any branding or sponsor requirements?

No, there are absolutely no branding or sponsor requirements. ImprintED donations come with no strings attached—your apparel is for your school, your group, and your students. Period.

What This Means:

  • No DARE Print Logo: We don't require our company logo on your shirts
  • No "Sponsored By" Text: You won't see any sponsor acknowledgments on the apparel
  • No Advertising: Your shirts won't promote our business or any other company
  • No Obligations: Receiving a donation doesn't commit you to future orders or promotions

Why We Do It This Way:

We believe community support should be genuine, not a marketing opportunity. When students wear ImprintED apparel, they should feel pride in their group—not like walking advertisements. Our reward is knowing we've helped local schools and strengthened our community.

Optional Recognition:

If your school wants to acknowledge DARE Print's donation (in a newsletter, social media post, or event program), we certainly appreciate it—but it's entirely your choice and never required.

Hanes4Education Rebates
What is Hanes4Education?

Hanes4Education is a rebate program operated by HanesBrands that provides cash back to K-12 schools when printers like DARE Print use eligible Hanes products for decorated apparel orders.

How It Works:

  • When we order eligible blank apparel from Hanes, ComfortWash, Champion, or Alternative brands
  • And decorate them (print on them) for a school order
  • We submit a rebate form to Hanes on the school's behalf
  • Hanes sends a $0.10 per garment rebate check directly to the school

Key Benefits:

  • Free Money: Schools receive cash at no additional cost to anyone
  • No Paperwork for Schools: DARE Print handles all rebate submissions
  • Applies to Donations AND Paid Orders: Any school order using eligible brands qualifies
  • Up to $5,000 Per Year: Schools can earn significant funding over time

DARE Print & Sign Co. is registered with the Hanes4Education program, which means we can submit rebates for any Cañon City area school. It's one more way ImprintED adds value beyond just the apparel itself.

Hanes4Education Rebates
How does the rebate work with ImprintED donations?

When we use Hanes, ComfortWash, Champion, or Alternative brand apparel for your free ImprintED donation, your school receives a bonus benefit: the Hanes4Education rebate check on top of the donated shirts.

Here's What Happens:

  1. Your school is selected through the quarterly drawing
  2. We design and produce your custom apparel using eligible Hanes products
  3. You receive 100 free custom shirts (or equivalent)
  4. We submit the Hanes4Education rebate form
  5. Your school receives a $10 rebate check from Hanes (100 shirts × $0.10)

The Result:

Your school gets free professionally designed and printed apparel plus $10 in additional funding—at absolutely no cost to anyone. It's not a huge amount, but it's free money that adds up over time, especially when combined with paid orders.

Important Notes:

  • Rebate checks arrive approximately 4-6 weeks after we submit the form
  • The check comes directly from Hanes with DARE Print listed as the donor
  • We recommend Hanes products when appropriate, but the final garment choice is always yours
Hanes4Education Rebates
How much can our school earn through Hanes4Education?

Schools can earn up to $5,000 per calendar year through the Hanes4Education program. Here's how the math works:

Rebate Structure:

  • $0.10 per eligible garment
  • $1,000 maximum per rebate submission (10,000 garments)
  • $5,000 maximum per school per calendar year (50,000 garments)

Example Earnings:

  • 100 shirts (ImprintED donation) = $10
  • 500 shirts (fundraiser order) = $50
  • 1,000 shirts (multiple groups/events) = $100
  • 5,000 shirts (busy school year) = $500

Maximizing Your Earnings:

The more your school orders decorated apparel using eligible brands through DARE Print, the more rebates you earn. Consider consolidating orders from multiple groups:

  • Athletic teams
  • Clubs and organizations
  • Faculty and staff shirts
  • Event and fundraiser apparel
  • Spirit wear sales

Every order adds up. We track submissions and can help you monitor progress toward the annual maximum.

Hanes4Education Rebates
Do we have to do any paperwork for the rebate?

No, schools do not need to complete any paperwork. DARE Print handles the entire Hanes4Education rebate process on your behalf. Your only job is to receive the check.

What DARE Print Does:

  1. Orders eligible Hanes/ComfortWash/Champion/Alternative products from authorized wholesalers
  2. Decorates the apparel for your school order
  3. Completes the online rebate submission form
  4. Uploads required invoices and documentation
  5. Designates your school as the rebate recipient

What Your School Does:

  1. Receive a rebate check in the mail from Hanes (4-6 weeks after submission)
  2. Deposit the check
  3. Use the funds however your school sees fit

Information We May Need:

To ensure the rebate reaches the right place, we may ask for:

  • Official school name (as registered with the state)
  • School mailing address
  • School phone number
  • School EIN/Tax ID (optional, but helps expedite processing)

That's it—no forms to fill out, no deadlines to track, no submissions to make. We handle everything.

Hanes4Education Rebates
Does the rebate apply to paid orders too?

Yes! The Hanes4Education rebate applies to any school order using eligible brands—not just ImprintED donations. This includes:

Eligible Order Types:

  • Fundraising campaigns: Spirit wear sales, online stores, event merchandise
  • Team orders: Athletic uniforms, club shirts, activity gear
  • Staff apparel: Faculty shirts, department gear, appreciation items
  • Event shirts: Field day, prom, graduation, school plays
  • Additional items: When you need more than your free donation covers

How It Works for Paid Orders:

  1. You place an order with DARE Print for decorated apparel
  2. We recommend Hanes products when they're the right fit for your needs
  3. You pay our standard school pricing for the order
  4. We submit the rebate form to Hanes
  5. Your school receives a rebate check (4-6 weeks later)

Example:

Your booster club orders 500 t-shirts for a fundraiser. You pay DARE Print for the shirts, then receive a $50 rebate check from Hanes a few weeks later. It's like getting a discount after the fact.

Hanes4Education Rebates
What brands qualify for the Hanes4Education rebate?

The following HanesBrands family products qualify for Hanes4Education rebates when purchased in bulk from authorized wholesalers for decoration:

Eligible Brands:

  • Hanes® — Classic, affordable basics including the popular Beefy-T and ComfortSoft lines
  • ComfortWash® — Garment-dyed, vintage-style apparel with a soft, lived-in feel
  • Champion® — Athletic and lifestyle apparel with strong brand recognition
  • Alternative® — Fashion-forward, eco-friendly basics with modern fits

Eligible Product Types:

  • T-shirts (short and long sleeve)
  • Polo shirts
  • Sweatshirts and hoodies
  • Sweatpants, joggers, and shorts

What Doesn't Qualify:

  • Products purchased at retail stores
  • Non-HanesBrands products (Gildan, Next Level, Bella+Canvas, etc.)
  • Products purchased through other Hanes incentive programs

During your consultation, we'll help you choose the best products for your needs. If a Hanes brand meets your requirements, we'll recommend it so your school can benefit from the rebate.

Orders & Delivery
What is the timeline from selection to delivery?

The typical timeline from initial contact to delivery is 2-4 weeks, depending on design complexity, size collection, and production scheduling. Here's what to expect:

Typical Timeline:

  • Week 1: Design Phase
    • Initial consultation (phone, email, or in-person)
    • First design proof delivered
    • Revisions as needed
    • Final design approval
  • Week 2: Size Collection
    • School gathers sizes from group members
    • Size breakdown submitted to DARE Print
  • Week 3-4: Production & Delivery
    • Blanks ordered from wholesaler
    • Printing completed in-house
    • Quality check
    • Delivery to school

Factors That Affect Timeline:

  • Design revisions: More rounds = more time (but we never rush you)
  • Size collection: Getting sizes from large groups takes time
  • Blank availability: Some colors/styles may have longer lead times
  • Order volume: Larger orders may need additional production time

If you have a specific event date, let us know upfront and we'll work backward to ensure on-time delivery.

Orders & Delivery
How do we collect sizes from our group?

Size collection is the school's responsibility, but we provide guidance and tools to make the process as smooth as possible.

Best Practices for Size Collection:

  • Set a Deadline: Give members a clear cutoff date (we recommend 5-7 days)
  • Use a Form: Digital forms (Google Forms, Microsoft Forms) work great and compile results automatically
  • Include All Options: List available sizes clearly (Youth S-XL, Adult S-3XL)
  • Collect Names: Associate sizes with names for easier distribution later
  • Send Reminders: People forget—send at least one reminder before the deadline

Size Information We Need:

  • Quantity per size (e.g., 5 Small, 12 Medium, 8 Large, etc.)
  • Youth vs. Adult sizing breakdown
  • Any special requirements (tall sizes, etc.)

Tips for Accuracy:

  • Encourage members to check their current shirt tags rather than guessing
  • Note that different brands fit slightly differently
  • When in doubt, size up—slightly loose is better than too tight
  • Consider ordering a few extras in popular sizes for late additions

Need a size collection template? Just ask—we're happy to provide one.

Just let us know your preference when we schedule delivery.

Orders & Delivery
What if we need more than 75 shirts?

No problem. Many groups need more apparel than the quarterly donation covers. The most common approach is to receive your 75 free shirts through the donation program and purchase additional items at discounted school rates. Everyone gets the same design on the same quality apparel regardless of how the order is split.

You can also set up a fundraising store where members or supporters purchase shirts, with proceeds offsetting costs or funding other group activities. All purchased items using qualifying Hanes brands still earn Hanes4Education rebates for your school.

Orders & Delivery
What is your turnaround time for paid orders?

Turnaround time for paid orders is similar to donation orders: typically 2-4 weeks from design approval to delivery. However, several factors can affect this timeline.

Standard Turnaround:

  • Small orders (under 50 pieces): 1-2 weeks after approval
  • Medium orders (50-200 pieces): 2-3 weeks after approval
  • Large orders (200+ pieces): 3-4 weeks after approval

Factors That Affect Timing:

  • Design complexity: More revision rounds extend the timeline
  • Blank availability: Some colors, styles, or sizes may require additional lead time from wholesalers
  • Season: Back-to-school (August-September) and spring (April-May) are our busiest periods
  • Order volume: Current production queue affects scheduling

Rush Orders:

Need it faster? Let us know your deadline upfront. We can often accommodate rush orders depending on our schedule and blank availability. Rush fees may apply for expedited production.

Best Practice:

For event-specific orders, we recommend contacting us 4-6 weeks in advance to ensure plenty of buffer time. The earlier you start, the more flexibility we have.

Fundraising Support
Can ImprintED help us with school fundraisers?

Absolutely! Fundraising support is a core part of what ImprintED offers beyond quarterly donations. We help schools and groups raise money through custom apparel sales with minimal effort on your part.

Fundraising Support
What percentage of sales goes to the school?

Fundraising proceeds vary based on product selection, pricing strategy, and order volume. We work with each school to structure campaigns that meet their fundraising goals while keeping prices reasonable for buyers.

How Pricing Works:

  • Base Cost: The wholesale cost of blank garments plus printing
  • Retail Price: The price customers pay (set collaboratively with you)
  • Proceeds: The difference between retail price and base cost goes to your school

Typical Ranges:

  • T-shirts: $5-10 per shirt in proceeds
  • Hoodies/Sweatshirts: $10-15 per item in proceeds
  • Premium items: Varies based on product

Example:

If you sell 200 t-shirts at $20 each with $7 in proceeds per shirt, your school earns $1,400—plus any Hanes4Education rebates if eligible brands are used ($20 additional on 200 shirts).

Transparent Approach:

Before launching your store, we'll provide a clear breakdown of costs and projected proceeds so you know exactly what to expect. We want your fundraiser to succeed and will help you find the right balance between price and participation.

Fundraising Support
Is there a minimum order for fundraising campaigns?

We have a soft minimum of 24 pieces for fundraising campaigns to ensure the effort is worthwhile for both the school and our production team. However, we're flexible and willing to discuss smaller campaigns on a case-by-case basis.

Why a Minimum?

Setting up an online store, processing orders, and managing a campaign requires time and resources. A minimum ensures:

  • Meaningful proceeds for your school
  • Efficient use of production resources
  • Cost-effective pricing for buyers

What If We're Not Sure We'll Hit 24?

  • Estimate conservatively: If you think you'll sell 30-50, you'll likely be fine
  • Extend the ordering period: Give people more time to purchase
  • Promote actively: Email, social media, announcements, and flyers help drive sales
  • Combine groups: Partner with another club or team to increase volume

Small Group Alternative:

For very small groups that won't hit the minimum, we can discuss a standard paid order instead of a fundraising store. You'd pay upfront at school pricing rather than collecting individual orders through a store.

Contact us to discuss your situation—we'll find a solution that works.

Fundraising Support
Can parents and community members order from our store?

Yes! Fundraising stores are open to anyone with the link—students, parents, grandparents, alumni, and community supporters can all place orders. The more people who participate, the more successful your fundraiser.

Who Typically Orders:

  • Students/Members: The group members themselves
  • Parents & Family: Often your biggest supporters
  • Grandparents: Love showing support for their grandkids' activities
  • Alumni: Former members who want to stay connected
  • Teachers & Staff: Faculty who support the group
  • Community Members: Local supporters, neighbors, family friends

Sharing Your Store:

We provide a simple URL that's easy to share via:

  • Email newsletters
  • Social media posts
  • School announcements
  • Printed flyers with QR codes
  • Text messages

Size Range:

Our stores typically offer Youth sizes (S-XL) and Adult sizes (S-3XL or larger) to accommodate all supporters, not just students.

The wider you spread the word, the more successful your fundraiser will be!

Getting Started
How do I get started once our school is selected?

Getting started is simple! Once your school is selected through the quarterly drawing, follow these steps:

Step 1: Contact Us

Email Program Coordinator Erica Haferkamp at info@dareprint.com or call (719) 270-1008. Let us know:

  • Your school name
  • Your name and role
  • Which group will receive the apparel
  • Approximate number of recipients

Step 2: Design Consultation

We'll schedule a consultation (phone, email, or in-person) to discuss:

  • Design ideas and preferences
  • Existing logos or artwork
  • Apparel types and colors
  • Timeline and any event deadlines

Step 3: Approve Design

Review proofs and provide feedback until you're completely satisfied. Unlimited revisions included.

Step 4: Collect Sizes

Gather size information from your group members (we can provide templates).

Step 5: We Handle the Rest

We produce your order in-house and deliver directly to your school.

The whole process typically takes 2-4 weeks. Questions along the way? We're always just a phone call or email away.

Getting Started
Who should be the point of contact for our school?

Your point of contact should be someone who can make decisions about the design, coordinate size collection, and receive the completed order. This is typically:

Good Choices:

  • Club/Activity Sponsor: Teacher or staff member who advises the group
  • Athletic Coach: For team orders
  • Department Head: For faculty/department apparel
  • Activities Director: Often coordinates multiple groups
  • Assistant Principal: For school-wide initiatives
  • PTO/Booster Representative: For parent-organized fundraisers

Ideal Contact Characteristics:

  • Has authority to approve designs and make decisions
  • Can collect sizes from group members
  • Is accessible by email and phone during school hours
  • Will be available to receive and distribute the order

Student Contacts:

While students can be involved in the design process, we require an adult (teacher, administrator, or parent volunteer) as the primary contact for communication and approval purposes.

Multiple Contacts:

You can designate one person for design decisions and another for logistics if that works better for your organization.

Getting Started
What information do you need from us to begin?

To get started quickly, gather the following information before your initial consultation:

Required Information:

  • School name and location
  • Group/organization name (e.g., "CCHS Robotics Club")
  • Contact person name, email, and phone number
  • Approximate quantity needed
  • Preferred apparel type (t-shirts, hoodies, mix, etc.)

Helpful (But Not Required) Information:

  • School logo files (vector formats .AI, .EPS, .SVG, .PDF are ideal; high-res .PNG or .JPG work too)
  • School colors (Pantone, hex codes, or "navy and gold")
  • Design ideas or inspiration (sketches, examples, Pinterest boards)
  • Text to include (group name, year, slogan, member names, etc.)
  • Event date or deadline (if applicable)
  • Garment color preferences

Don't Have Everything?

That's okay! We can start the conversation with basic information and gather details as we go. Don't let missing logo files or uncertainty about design direction delay you—that's what our consultation is for.

The most important thing is to reach out and get the conversation started.

Program Timeline
When are the quarterly donation periods?

ImprintED operates on a quarterly schedule aligned with the school year. Each quarter, new schools are selected through the district drawing to receive donations.

Quarterly Schedule:

  • Q1: August – October
Back-to-school season, fall activities, club kickoffs, fall sports
  • Q2: November – January
Winter sports, holiday events, second semester prep
  • Q3: February – April
Spring activities, testing season recognition, spring sports
  • Q4: May – July
    End-of-year celebrations, graduations, summer programs

How Selection Works Each Quarter:

  1. District holds quarterly drawing to select participating schools
  2. Selected schools are notified through district channels
  3. Schools contact us to begin the design process
  4. Orders are completed and delivered within the quarter

Planning Ahead:

If your school is selected, contact us early in the quarter to ensure plenty of time for design, size collection, and production—especially if you have a specific event date in mind.

Schools not selected in one quarter remain eligible for future drawings.

Program Timeline
How far in advance should we plan for our order?

We recommend contacting us 4-6 weeks before you need your apparel in hand. This provides comfortable buffer time for design, revisions, size collection, production, and delivery.

Recommended Lead Times:

  • Standard orders: 4-6 weeks
  • Large orders (200+ pieces): 6-8 weeks
  • Complex designs or multiple groups: 6-8 weeks
  • Peak seasons (Aug-Sep, Apr-May): 6-8 weeks
  • Rush orders: 2-3 weeks (when possible)

Why Earlier Is Better:

  • Design flexibility: More time for revisions without pressure
  • Size collection: Getting sizes from large groups takes time
  • Blank availability: Popular sizes/colors sometimes have longer lead times
  • Production scheduling: Earlier orders get priority scheduling
  • Peace of mind: No last-minute stress

Last-Minute Situations:

If you're in a time crunch, contact us anyway. We'll do our best to accommodate rush orders when our schedule allows. Rush fees may apply for expedited production.

The sooner you reach out, the more options we have!

Program Timeline
Can we request apparel for a specific event date?

Yes! We regularly work with schools to deliver apparel for specific events. Just let us know your deadline upfront, and we'll work backward to build a timeline that ensures on-time delivery.

Common Event-Specific Orders:

  • Homecoming and spirit weeks
  • Athletic tournaments and championships
  • Concerts, plays, and performances
  • Field trips and competitions
  • Award ceremonies and recognition events
  • Graduation and end-of-year celebrations
  • Club kickoff events
  • Community service projects

How We Make It Work:

  1. Tell us your date: Share your event date when you first contact us
  2. We build a timeline: Working backward from your date, we establish deadlines for design approval, size collection, and production
  3. Stick to the schedule: Timely feedback and size submission keeps everything on track
  4. Delivery before event: We aim to deliver at least a few days early for buffer

Tight Deadline?

If your event is coming up fast, contact us immediately. We'll be honest about whether we can meet your deadline and discuss options if the timeline is tight.

Program Timeline
What happens if we miss our quarter's deadline?

If your school was selected but you weren't able to complete your order within the quarter, don't worry—we'll work with you to find a solution.

Common Reasons for Delays:

  • Design approval took longer than expected
  • Difficulty collecting sizes from group members
  • School contact was unavailable or changed
  • Competing priorities or busy season at school
  • Miscommunication about selection notification

Options If You Miss the Deadline:

  • Carry Over: In some cases, we may be able to honor your donation in the following quarter, depending on production capacity
  • Next Drawing: Your school remains eligible for future quarterly drawings
  • Paid Order: If you need apparel immediately, we can convert to a paid order at discounted school rates

How to Avoid Missing Deadlines:

  • Contact us as soon as your school is notified of selection
  • Designate a responsive point of contact
  • Set internal deadlines for design feedback and size collection
  • Communicate any scheduling conflicts early

If you're running behind, reach out to us—we'd rather discuss options than have your group miss out entirely.

Program Basics
Who is the district liaison for ImprintED?

Miles Tuttle serves as the Cañon City Schools District Liaison for the ImprintED program. He coordinates the quarterly school selection process and serves as the primary connection between DARE Print & Sign Co. and the district.

Schools with questions about participation or the selection process can reach out to Miles through the district office, or contact ImprintED Program Coordinator Erica Haferkamp directly.

Program Basics
Do new teachers and staff get a free shirt?

Yes. Every new teacher and classified staff member joining Cañon City Schools receives a free custom t-shirt through ImprintED. This is separate from the quarterly school donation program and is available to all new hires district-wide.

New staff members receive a private link from their school's HR department to submit their name, school, staff type, and t-shirt size. We handle production and delivery from there.

Getting Started
How do new staff members order their free shirt?

New teachers and classified staff receive a private form link from their school's HR department. The form collects your name, email, school assignment, staff type, and t-shirt size. That's all we need to get your shirt into production.

Initial orders are delivered to the school district for distribution. If you submit your form after the initial batch deadline, your shirt can be picked up at DARE Print & Sign Co. at 710 Main Street in downtown Cañon City. We always aim for the fastest turnaround possible.

Program Basics
Why does ImprintED donate custom apparel to schools?

Belonging is one of the most fundamental human needs. When students put on a shirt representing their club, team, or school, they make a visible declaration that they're part of something. That connection drives confidence, engagement, and pride—especially for students who might not otherwise have access to quality custom apparel.

The same principle applies to new staff. A custom shirt on day one sends an immediate message: you're one of us. ImprintED exists because we believe these small gestures build real community.

Apparel & Design
How does the design proofing process work?

Once we have your design concept, our team finalizes the artwork and sends a digital proof through DARE Print & Sign Co.'s proofing system. You review the proof online and can request changes until you're completely satisfied before we go to print.

This applies to both quarterly donation projects and the new teacher and staff shirt program. No order goes into production without an approved proof, so you always know exactly what you're getting.

Eligibility & Selection
How many schools are selected each quarter?

Two schools are selected each quarter to receive custom apparel donations. Each school receives 75 custom shirts, for a total of 150 shirts per quarter going directly into Cañon City Schools.

District Liaison Miles Tuttle coordinates the selection process to ensure every school in the district has equal opportunity to participate throughout the school year.
